Thermal Oak Motel was known as Rob Roy Motor Inn. The owner has decided to refurbish and rebrand the property as an attempt to meet the industry’s and customer’s ever-evolving demands and standards.
At Thermal Oak Motel, we value our guests and we care about their experiences, not just the experience with us, but rather the entire experience of their journey in New Zealand.

For your convenience, a key return box is available outside the reception area for early departure. Please ensure the room doors are locked with all lights and appliances turned off.
Late check out is available on request and is solely based on availability. Should you need a later check out time please contact one of our staff members at your earliest convenience.
Security and Access
To ensure the maximum safety and security, please ensure doors and windows are locked prior leaving the motel rooms.
The Front Door by the reception will be closed at 9:30pm. Please use the key tag to gain access into the building.
Back Gate and Back Door will be closed at 9:30pm and be reopened at 8:30am. Front Entrance by the Reception will be the only access point for vehicles, guests are advised to access into the Motel Main Building via Front Door with key tag.
Parking
Due to the limited space, please do not occupy more than one parking space per room booked. Should you travel with more than one vehicle, please contact reception and our staff will direct you to other off-street parking closest to the motel building.
Please do not leave any valuable items in the vehicle, Thermal Oak Motel will not accept any liability from loss, theft or damages to any vehicles parked onsite.
Air Conditioning and Heating
All our rooms are equipped with air conditioning units and thermal heating panels (radiators) for our guest’s comfort. Please ensure all windows are shut during the use of any of the above units. Please be advised that the radiators are set at a fixed and safe temperature to the legal requirement BUT could be too hot for children, all guests are advised to monitor their children.
Please be considerate to the environment while enjoying the comfortableness brought by the Air Conditioning Units. Guests are advised to turn off the units when the room is not in used for energy preserving purposes.
Guest Laundry
The guest laundry is located on the ground floor near the reception. It is provided to our in-house guests ONLY. Self-service washing machine and dryer are available for use at the cost of $5.00 each load, wash or dry. Please purchase Tokens from reception, Laundry powder will be provided. The maximum capacity of the washing machine and dryer is 9KG, please do not overload the machine to avoid machine failure.

Mineral Spa Pools
There are two Mineral Hot Pools for the in-house guests. They are available from 3:00pm – 9:00pm daily. The temperature of the pools is kept between 38°C and 42°C for optimum bathing pleasure and the Mineral Water Pools are cleaned and refilled daily. Booking at the reception is essential for health and safety concerns.
Council Regulation and Health and Safety – Mineral Spa Pools
We do recommend our guest to avoid bathing at the mineral water pool alone.
If you are feeling unwell, while or after using the mineral water pool, please leave the pool immediately and notify the manager on duty at the reception. Always call 111 immediately in ANY emergency.
Private Mineral Spa Pools
Some of the motel rooms are equipped with private Mineral Spa Pools. For Health and Safety reasons, the hot mineral water for these pools is controlled by the motel staff ONLY. Please do not attempt to turn on or off the taps or remove the wooden cover to avoid potential injuries. Please contact reception to have the Private Mineral Pools filled. No alcohol to be consumed before or during the use of Private Mineral Hot Pools. Please follow the Health and safety rules mentioned above.

In-Room Entertainment
Freeview channels are available in all rooms. Additional HDMI cables as well as unlimited WIFI is also provided in room for your phones or laptops to use with our TV. Whether it is YouTube or Netflix, it is always better with a bigger screen! For Health and Safety, we kindly ask you to keep children off from the TV mount and please do not hang heavy objects or exert force on TV.
Room Servicing
Daily Housekeeping service is provided between 9:00am – 3:00pm.
Pets
For general health and safety and prevention of allergic reactions to all guests, pets are not allowed in the motel.
Smoking
As per Smoke-free Environment Act 1990, Smoking in all indoor workplace, in this case, all indoor areas at Thermal Oak Motel is strictly prohibited. Anyone found breaching this rule will be fined $200NZD as per council rules, the fine will goes towards cleaning and decontaminating the area affected. Please smoke at the outdoor area where the ash trays provided.
Noise Control
In order to up hold the best quality for all our guests, we kindly ask everyone to be considerate and keep the noise level down after 10:30pm. Strictly NO Party in all motel units. Please enquire at the reception for space if larger catering space is needed.

Damage to the Motel’s Property
It is our Guest’s responsibility to give good care to maintain and avoid damages to all of the Motel’s property provided. We would appreciate if guests can inform our staff about the damage as soon as it happens or is discovered. Chargers may incur should any of the following items are misplaced or damaged.
